Body Procedures- Thigh Lift and Buttock Lift in Palo Alto

The Thigh Lift and Buttock Lift are cosmetic surgery procedures designed to tighten the skin of the thigh or buttock and reduce sagging of the inner and outer thigh skin or buttock region. These procedures can be performed on their own, or in combination with other procedures such as a Body Lift or Liposuction.

Many patients choose to have Thigh Lift surgery after they have lost a considerable amount of weight, as weight loss tends to cause the body to have areas of loose, saggy skin. A Thigh Lift gets rid of embarrassing and unwanted skin that exists on the inner thighs as well as back of the thighs. Patients who have excess fat without significant excess skin may benefit from Liposuction only, without the need for skin excision and the resulting scar.

Buttock lifting procedures involve lifting the upper area of the buttock. This procedure is typically reserved for patients with significant excess skin, often following weight loss, as incisions are required and the resulting scars can be significant. The procedure, however, can be quite rewarding for patients following weight loss, as surgical Thigh or Buttock Lift is often the best method to remove the undesirable skin.

As with all cosmetic procedures, there are multiple options for treating unwanted excess skin and fat in the buttock and thigh region. Most patients only require Liposuction, however, there are a certain group of patients that will benefit most with Thigh Lift or Buttock Lift. Discussing your concerns with Dr. Papalian will allow you to have all of the options presented, not just one.

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift) in Palo Alto

Brachioplasty or upper arm lift is performed to tighten loose, hanging and excess upper arm skin that may be caused by aging or genetics, but is most often related to weight loss. Patients who request Brachioplasty typically have significant excess skin, more than just “heavy” upper arms.

As with all cosmetic procedures, there are multiple options for Brachioplasty, and patients are best served by having a comprehensive consultation by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in order to have all the treatment options presented. Excess fat, sagging and hanging skin on the upper arms is a distressing cosmetic and functional issue for many women and correctable by traditional Brachioplasty, which requires an incision from the armpit to the elbow. Under certain conditions, minimal incision Brachioplasty may be recommended, requiring only a small incision hidden in the armpit. In other cases, where patients view their upper arms as “thick or heavy”, correction is more typically done with Liposuction.

Dr. Papalian performs the most current Brachioplasty techniques, some of which have limited downtime and minimal incisions. Which procedure is best for your particular findings and goals is best decided together with Dr. Papalian, as multiple options exist.

Having a comprehensive and trusted consultation at The Plastic Surgery Center on Woodside with Dr. Papalian will ensure that you are going to have all of the options presented in a thoughtful manner. Following Your Consultation, you will have the information needed to make the right decision for you and a personalized treatment plan will be developed together with Dr. Papalian.

Liposuction (Lipoplasty / Suction Lipectomy) in Palo Alto

As one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the U.S. today, Liposuction, or Suction Assisted Lipectomy, sculpts the body by removing undesirable fat that has not responded to diet and exercise from the abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks or neck. Liposuction not only offers the opportunity to slim and contour “problem areas” of the body by actually removing the fat cells, it also ensures that these areas will no longer be the storage area for fatty deposits in the future.

As with most plastic surgery procedures, there are multiple choices, areas, and options for Liposuction. Dr. Papalian understands that all patients are different, both in their body shapes and in what they wish to achieve with Liposuction. Particularly with Liposuction, one procedure does not “fit all.” Which technique, combination of techniques or device to be used is best formulated after having an evaluation of your particular area of concern(s). As much time as necessary is spent with you during your consultation at The Plastic Surgery Center on Woodside to learn what each patient wants liposuction to do for them, and to decide which technique is best. In this way, every patient enjoys a completely customized treatment designed with his or her specific goals in mind.

With all Liposuction procedures, it takes experience to know how much fat can safely be removed without leaving excess skin. Dr Papalian will discuss both the advantages of Liposuction, as well as the honest limitations of the procedures with you. The results that can be achieved are a more proportioned body, without the problem areas that patients have struggled with for years.

Since Liposuction techniques encompass many different areas of the body with differing recoveries, having a consultation with Dr. Papalian, with 20 years of Plastic Surgery experience, will ensure that you are going to have the options presented in a thoughtful manner, and that you will have the information needed to make the right decision for you. At the time of Your Consultation, a personalized treatment plan will be developed.
